I'm a lifelong resident of Chicago's Southside home to the World Champion Chicago White Sox. I grew up in the Gage Park community and now reside in the Mount Greenwood area. I developed my interest in photography as an under graduate studying geography at Augustana College. Inspired by a trip to the Grand Canyon and numerous fishing trips to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, my early work reflects a deep appreciation for nature.
First published in the Chicago Bungalow book, my image making has moved into the realm of digital photography and computer modified images. These interesting images begin as one-of-a-kind photographs and then may be altered using computer software, rendering a final product with a vintage or nostalgic mood. In the end, the images have a strong graphic quality. Vintage posters, post cards and hand colored photos are influences visible in the final print.
I began showing my work at Chicago area art fairs during the summer of 2005. My work also adorns the lobbies of several area firms and residences, including the Chicago Transit Authority corporate offices, Churchview Supportive Living, The Lowell House in Sandberg Village and the law firms of Applegate & Thorne-Tomsen and Karbal, Cohen, Economou, Silk & Dunne.
